What is Hospice?

Hospice is a special way of caring for people who have limited life expectancy , and for their family. We at California’s Best Hospice work with the patient’s physician and practice a palliative care approach in rendering the physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patient, families, and their loved ones. Our emphasis is placed on the quality of life rather than the length of life. Hospice services are available 24 hours a day an seven days a week.

 

California’s Best Hospice Team is committed to ensuring that the patients are given the latest and most innovative approach in pain and symptom management to guarantee that patient spend their final days with dignity and utmost comfort.

 

The Care provide by California’s Best hospice staff may be in their home, in a care center, skilled nursing facility, inpatient facility or wherever the patient calls “home.”

Choosing Hospice

Registered Nurses: Provides pain and symptom management; also available in person or by phone 24 hours a day.

Medical Social Workers: Offer emotional support and help with financial and legal options and resources.

Trained In-Home Volunteers: Provide caregivers with support and respite.

Bereavement Staff: Provides counseling and support groups.

Medical Director: Consults with patient’s physician and other team members to manage patient care. 

Spiritual Counselor: Offers support and can assist in obtaining spiritual services of your choice. 

Specialized Therapist: Can be called for Physical, Occupational, and Speech consultation.

Hospice Aides: Assist with personal care and hygiene.

Who is Eligible for Hospice Care?

Somebody who:

 

  •  Has an end stage illness such as cancer; cardiac disease; lung or kidney disease, AIDS, or neurological disorders.
  • Wants Symptom control and a comfort approach.
  • Lives in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, an San Bernadino Counties.
  • Has a Physician who recommends Hospice Services.
